"We found Suma Design & Construction through much research and interviews of local builders. My wife and I knew that we wanted to build a home that was uniquely ours and that building your first new home can be a daunting task. After meeting with Mark and visiting many of their model homes, we knew that Suma Design & Construction was the perfect match to build our home.

We had heard others that complain about their builders using second-grade materials or taking shortcuts at every possible turn, but this was certainly not the case for our home with Suma Design & Construction. They delivered high quality in every aspect of the construction of our home and you can tell just by walking into the house that this home was built to last.

The owner, Mark, was very transparent, hands-on, and open throughout the entire process. For example, when we made a routine visit to our project site during the winter months after a snow storm we found Mark at the property with snow boots on and a shovel in hand, shoveling a snow drift out of the basement so that the project would not be delayed.

Finally, the most important aspect is whether or not our new home met our expectations. We can say without a doubt, that the home built by Suma Design & Construction has not only met but vastly exceeded our dreams. The overall look and feel of the home has created a final product with which we could not be happier. The entire team at Suma Design & Construction made it their mission to ensure that they built, not just any home, but the home specifically meant for us. If you're looking for the best of the best in the KC area, look no further than Suma Design & Construction."

"I think the main thing that sets Suma Design apart from other builders is that Mark is a part of the process the entire step of the way. He was there for every decision we made whether it be cabinets, electrical placement, plumbing/faucet placement, tile choice/layout, landscaping, smart home design… EVERYTHING! There are A LOT of decisions to be made when building a house and he was always there by our side offering advice, suggestions and support.

I love the fact that my home is unique. This our second Suma Design home and both have stood out from any others that I have ever seen in the Kansas City area. Mark has always been a step ahead of his competition by using the best energy saving products and technology. (Blown in Bat Insulation, Cat6 wiring throughout, smart home technology) as well as in design. One of the favorite features of our current home built by Suma Design is the folding telescopic doors that lead to an amazing screened in porch with modern gas fireplace and TV. When the weather is nice… we never want to leave this space!! Some other features we love and get compliments on all the time by family/friends include the large open shower in the master bathroom, stair-stepped lighted bottle display in the bar area, hidden projector screen in the media area downstairs and of course the Control4 smart home technology that lets you control anything with your voice or the touch of a button (Installed by Independence Audio)."

"My husband and I began our search for a builder to build our dream home with little to no experience or knowledge. Early in the process, we saw one of Suma Design’s model homes and instantly fell in love. Being newbies, we decided to go ahead and participate in the Parade of Homes in order to give other builders a chance to blow us away. Instead, we found ourselves comparing every home to Suma Design. We ended up going to all of Suma’s models - even driving an hour away! Needless to say, we knew all along that we wanted to work with Mark to build our beautiful home.

Throughout the process Mark and his team were extremely helpful and honest about what building a house entailed. From the beginning we were given a timeline and were reminded from his team each step of the way as to which decisions needed to be made next. As someone who enjoys a schedule, I was incredibly impressed that Mark’s schedule and original projected move-in date were on point almost to the exact day!

The building process was easy and fun with Mark and his team. There were a few aspects of the house that we knew we wanted, however there were several times we told Mark to “do what you would put in your house.? We were never disappointed and his choices look better than we could have imagined. Having a builder we could trust was extremely important. We (mostly my husband) also loved that Mark was honest and transparent throughout the process about the cost and work that some of my crazy ideas would take. Mark always had our back with the vendors and would answer my questions so I truly understood what was going on.

We initially chose to work with Suma Design because we loved the style and feel of the homes (and still do). We would choose to work with Mark and his team again because of his communication, commitment to quality, and ability to make our vision a reality. Our new home is beautiful and the perfect place to make memories with our family and friends. We are so thankful for Mark and his team for building our dream home."

Taylor and Zane Myers

" We immediately connected with Mark's sense of design - the fit and finish of the cabinetry, stunning tile, crown moulding and overall attention to detail and careful choices of color. "

John & Katherine Distefano, Riss Lake

"Like anyone in search of a new home builder, we looked at many homes. When we saw one of Mark's homes at Staley Farms, we knew we had found our builder. Knowing we were first-time builders, he kept an eye on every detail - from helping to select light fixtures to making sure the shower was the right height for my six-foot-plus husband."

Vicky Boyle, River Hills

"We had heard quite a few horror stories from our friends about building a home. We saw a Suma model home and loved it. With Mark as our builder, our "building a home" adventure, while never a stres-free process, turned out to be a very positive experience."

Arnie and Sami Aaron, Shawnee

"From previous home building experiences, we knew exactly what we wanted - a contractor with personal interest, creative ideas, personal touch and impeccable follow-through. Mark gave us exactly that."

Vernon and Charlene Armitage, The Fairways

"We looked at many existing homes and new construction in Johnson County, but we kept comming back to a Mark Sumada home. The Suma Design home met all our immediate needs. A year after moving in, we contracted with Mark to finish the basement. Not only does Mark provide quality work, but does so with integrity and honestly."

Mark & Andrea Gorham, Woodland Reserve

"Design was a primary consideration for us. We knew Mark was our builder when we realized the thought that was put into the floor plan, and for that matter, each and every detail. Mark Sumada is in a class all his own when it comes to craftsmanship and attention to detail."

Doug and Beth Buresh, Hawksbury

"We were most impressed with Mark's approach. He was confident, knowledgable, commited and unafriad to speak frankly. no matter what we were discussing - costs, materials or timeline, Mark always had the right information immediately available. He made us feel very comfortable during the whole process."

Ed and Nettie Agnew, Riss Lake

"We looked at every neighborhood in Kansas City in our pricerange. Ultimately, no other home could compare to the floorplan and wall of windows of our Suma home. We live on a golf course and the design of our home makes our views even more spectacular."

Steve & Connie Hintze, Staley Farms
